Stella Blue

There is an expression that says, “A camel is a horse designed by committee”. And, while I recognize there are those who will argue the beauty and functional form of the camel, such collaborative efforts do often end up disasters. However, there are cases, as evidenced by the collaborative efforts of designer Sparkman & Stevens and boat builder Tartan Marine, where a “design committee” approach has produced a true thoroughbred.

Stella Blue is a 1982 Tartan 37. She is hull number 397 of 486. We purchased her from Molly and Baxter Gillespie (AWESOME folks) February 8, 2013. They put together this excellent PDF of her features.
